When it comes to fall beauty, pumpkin has obviously stolen the spotlight. But it’s not the only seasonal ingredient with beauty benefits. We’re huge advocates of all things cinnamon (it’s just so festive!), and natural beauty brand S.W. Basics feels the same way. S.W. Basics whipped up this DIY face mask using just a few ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.Trust us, the mixture smells amazing—and the glow you’ll get after using it is even better. Bonus: You can double the recipe and use it as a body scrub (the coffee grounds work wonders on dull, dry skin).
Here’s what you’ll need:
• 1 heaping tablespoon of leftover coffee grounds
• 2 tablespoons of ground oats
• 1 heaping tablespoon of creamed honey
• 1 to 2 generous shakes of ground cinnamon
Combine the antioxidant-rich coffee, exfoliating oats, blemish-fighting honey, and skin-brightening cinnamon in a small bowl. Stir until a paste forms, then carefully pat the mixture onto your skin (no rubbing!), avoiding contact with your eyes. Leave on for up to 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Bask in your fresh-faced, luminous, I-just-got-back-from-a-brisk-jog-amongst-falling-leaves glow. If you have sensitive skin, you can reduce the amount of cinnamon or omit it entirely—you’ll still get radiant results.
